What We've Accomplished
Crisis in Sarajevo
An example of Giving Hope International and its commitment can be found in the story of a young Roma (gypsy) girl in the war-torn country of Bosnia-Herzegovina. In the midst of ethnic conflict, the forgotten people for centuries have been the Roma people. A young orphan girl by the name of Sarah, rejected by all other groups in the region, was provided emergency aid for severe burns over the majority of her body. GHI was there to provide immediate on-site attention, and provide for transportation to a place where she would receive long-term healing. She was also provided with a caregiver, vitamins and nutritional supplements. GHI endeavors to ensure that marginalized children receive essential aid, and consistently works to expand the scope of programs so that more children in need will benefit.
GHI has also partnered with several agencies to respond to emergency needs in Serbia and Kenya, distributing needed medical supplies and equipment to those areas' underserved populations.
GHI has accomplished much for only being three years old. It is presently in process of opening a warehouse facility expansion in Nashua, NH, providing an East Coast outlet to go along with its Orange County facility it shares with Global Operations and Development in Buena Park, CA. Partnering with agencies in both areas, GHI will be able to respond to individual emergency situations both domestically and internationally.
